 1. CAM / CAMRiP

Adalah kualitas video yang bersumber dari video/film yang diputar dibioskop, untuk kualitas gambarnya kebanyakan sangat jelek dibandingkan dengan DVDRip, DVDScr dan R5 tapi bisa saja berkualitas baik jika si perekam ketika di bioskop meletakkan kamera beserta tripod nya di tempat yang benar dan tidak terganggu dengan hal lain seperti lalu-lalang orang-orang dibioskop dan lain-lain.

Untuk kualitas suaranya tergantung pada jarak si perekam apakah dekat dengan sumber suara atau jauh dari sumber suara, efeknya adalah ketika si perekam dekat dengan sumber suara maka kejernihan suara akan baik dan ketika si perekam jauh dari sumber suara hasilnya sebaliknya. Bukan hanya itu kualitas kamera saat mengambil gambar sangat berpengaruh pada hasil.

 2. TELESYNC (TS)

 3. TELECINE (TC)

Yang paling heboh dulu Film Man In Black II (MIIB) dimana versi WP-nya beredar dengan semua alien2-nya ngga ada, karena blom selesai di-render pake komputer.. bingung2 dah tuh yg nonton...

5. SCREENER (SCR)

SCR itu merupakan pre-release sebuah film yang biasanya direkam dalam format kaser VHS yang didistribusikan oleh pembuat film ke toko2 rental, media, televisi untuk tujuan promosi. Tipe ini biasanya didistribusikan dalam bentuk SVCD (dijualin tukang bajak) atau DivX/XviD (download film seperti TheHack3r.com). Nah kalo BDscr itu jarang ditemui.. ini versi BluRay-nya.

7. VHSRiP

10. TVRiP

Ini merupakan film yang direkam dari TV menggunakan peralatan recording seperti recorder VHS, Betacam atau DVR. Jadi sumber capturenya dari koneksi coaxial/composite/s-video port. Itu loh kabel merah, kuning, putih yang suka ada dibelakang TV/VCD/DVD Player. Kalo yang s-video bentuknya kabel tunggal berwarna hitam dimana port-nya banyak pin-nya.
Jenis film-nya sangat variatif.. mulai dr beneran film, dokumenter, tv show, konser musik, video clip, etc.. Kalo si ripper-nya tipe pemalas, semua sama iklan2-nya turut direkam..

11. HDTV / HDTVRiP

Biasanya film ini merupakan siaran TV episode yg biasanya direkam secara digital dari jaringan siaran TV Kabel / TV digital / TV Satelit. Ciri2 film ini biasanya adanya flicker pada film dan beberapa bagian mengandung artefak (Itu loh yang kayak VCD ngadat trus gambarnya kotak2..). Karena disiarkan melalui TV Cable, biasanya ada tayangan2 extra yg tidak terdapat pada edisi TV biasanya. Semisal, behind the screen, komentar, etc.. TVrip biasanya diencoding menjadi resolusi fullscreen 512x384.

12. DSR / DSRiP

PDTV (Pure Digital) adalah TVrip yg direkam menggunakan TV PCI card digital (pake komputer gan nge-capture-nya). Hasilnya yang terbaik dibanding TVrip yang lain. PDTV biasanya diencoding menjadi resolusi fullscreen 512x384 dan 640x352 untuk widescreen.

13. DVBRiP

Merupakan tipe DSrip hanya saja sumbernya adalah dari TV satelit bertipe DVB-s. Satelite DVB-s inilah yang sekarang ngetrend untuk menerima siaran2 InternetTV. Beberapa provider internet bahkan menggunakan satelit DVB-s ini untuk downlink channel internet mereka dengan alasan penghematan.

14. HR.HDTV

HRHDTV / HR.HDTV (High Resolution High Definition) merupakan film yang direkam dari siaran TV High Defenition.

Namun ada beberapa kesalahan persepsi tentang terminologi ini. Beberapa menyebutnya Half-Resolution High-Definition. Hal ini karena resolusi HRHD hanya 3/4 tinggi resolusi aslinya dan lebarnya di downsampling ke resolusi 720p. Sehingga secara luas resolusi, gambar HRHD hanya 56.25% dari siaran HD yang biasanya. HR.HDTV biasanya diencoding menjadi resolusi 640x352 (360p) dan 960x528 (540p).

DDC = Digital Distribution Copy merupakan versi film yang diambil dari situs2 pendonlotan film semacam Netflix. Film ini merupakan film resmi / legal dan didistribusikan melalui internet.

17. PPV & VOD

PPV = Pay Per View dan juga VOD = Video-On-Demand merupakan film yang direkam menggunakan peralatan rekaman digital yang sumbernya diambil dari saluran khusus dimana untuk menontonnya harus berbayar. Biasanya siaran berbayar ini ada di Hotel2 berbintang, klub film, organisasi2 khusus (seminar / workshop), TV kabel, etc...

Tipe ini banyak didapat di hosting file-sharing (rapid*share, hotfile, mediafire, indowebster, etc..) maupun torrent. Kualitas film ini pas-pas-an dan banyak diminati karena ukuran filenya yang kecil.

19. R5

R5 maksudnya DVD yang dirilis khusus untuk region 5 (area bekas Uni Soviet, India, Africa, North Korea & Mongolia). Perbedaan mendasar R5 dg versi biasa adlh bahwa versi ini diproduksi dgn transfer langsung telecine / TC tanpa adanya proses pengolahan gambar / rendering / encoding.

Karena tidak ada standar khusus untuk bajakan R5 biasanya bajakan versi ini dilabeli dengan Telecines (TC), DVD Screeners (DVDscr), atau bahkan DVDrips. beberapa pe-rilis bajakan versi ini seperti DREAMLiGHT, mVs & PUKKA melabeli rilis mereka dgn ekstensi file “.R5?.

20. UNRATED

Unrated version = the version you couldn’t see at theatre.
Maksudnya, adegan atau scene yang ga boleh ditayangin dibioskop bisa kamu liat di dvd, seperti adegan nudity, strong sexual, strong violence, dll. Untuk porno tidaknya relatif. Untuk film2 seperti American Pie ya emang isinya jadi hampir semua porno-pornoan. Tapi untuk film seperti The Hills Have Eyes isinya jadi lebih sadis dari versi bioskop/rated. Kalo gw sih malah suka cari yang Unrated version, karna lebih lengkap tanpa adanya pemotongan jadi malah kayak nonton Extended Versionnya.

 1. VHS

VHS yang pita-nya bisa kusut, pitanya bisa berjamur, nontonnya harus sequensial, butuh peralatan khusus dan mahal untuk proses editing akhirnya harus mengalah pada jaman dan sebentar lagi akan punah.. VHS ini ada 2 jenis yakni resolusi 352×240 pixel (NTSC) dan 352×288 (PAL/SECAM).

Pake format inilah pertama kali namanya film bisa di-distribusikan hingga kerumah-rumah. Kalo yang hidup di tahun 90-an pasti tau dong dan sering rental dong kaset VHS yang warna merah dan VHS yang warna biru ? Yes… dari sinilah asal muasal adanya sebutan film biru untuk bokep / XXX karena kaset fimnya adalah VHS berwarna biru.

Kalo pada VHS gangguan gambar bisa berupa noise atau stripping akibat kerusakan pada pita, maka pada VCD gangguannya berupa artifact (gambar ngadat dan gambar-nya kotak-kotak).

Varian format VCD ada 4 lagi gan yakni CD-i Digital Video, XVCD (eXtended Video CD) , KVCD (K Video Compression Dynamics) dan DVCD (Double VCD). satuan ukuran pada era VCD familiar dengan waktu (menit) bukan kapasitas (MB).

Dimana jika scene detil maka bitratenya akan tinggi dan sebaliknya. Analogi gampangnya, jika scene adalah gambar ruangan, pasti akan mengandung bitrate lebih tinggi (karena detail-nya banyak) dibanding ketika scene hanya menyorot dinding warna putih misalnya.

Varian format SVCD ada CVD (China Video Disc), XSVCD (eXtended Super VCD), RSVCD (RoBa SVCD) dan MVCD (Mole VCD).

DivX adalah versi pertama dan paling populer sampai kemudian DivX, Inc. (sebelumnya DivXNetworks, Inc.) memutuskan untuk mengkomersialkan codec ini maka orang-orang beralih ke versi XviD (tandingannya) yang tidak saja bersifat Open Source tapi juga mempunyai kelebihan dibanding DivX.

Ada 2 jenis codec DivX yaitu MPEG-4 Part 2 (DivX codec standar) dan H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (DivX Plus HD codec).

Di era kemunculan, DivX & XviD ini hanya bisa dimainkan di komputer dan butuh aplikasi DivX player. Namun sekarang ini sudah hampir semua player bisa memutar format ini bahkan DVD portabel yang dijual di pasaran walau distribusi format ini banyak dilakukan di internet (bukan dalam keping CD)

Seperti diterangkan sebelumnya gan, bahwa x264 merupakan salah satu dari jenis codec DivX / XVid untuk meng-encoding video ke bentuk H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding) stream.

6. DVD : DVD-R, DVD+R, MiniDVD & DVD-RAM

Dikemudian hari juga ditemukan sistem penulisan DVD dual layer (DL) sehingga memungkinkan penyimpanan data meningkat 2X lipat menjadi 8,5GB per keping.

DVD-R (minus) & DVD+R (plus) hanyalah masalah perang standar. Bahwa DVD- adalah standar dari Konsorsium DVD sementara DVD+ adalah standar dari ISO. Dulu konsumen sempat direpotkan oleh hal ini tapi belakangan semua vendor kompak mengeluarkan DVD Drive (pembaca DVD) yang bisa membaca kedua-duanya.

Oh iya di awal kemunculannya, versi DVD ini dibagi menjadi beberapa region karena urusan hak cipta / DRM (Digital Right Management). Ada region 0 sampai 8. Cuma yang beredar di pasaran adalah region 1 sampai 6. Untuk tau area mana aja yang mencakupi tiap region bisa di cek disini

MiniDVD sendiri adalah versi mungil dari keping DVD dimana kapasitasnya hanya 1,4GB per keping untuk Single Layer (SL)dan 2,8GB untuk Dual Layer (DL). Penggemar movie tidak menyukai format ini karena kapasitasnya yang kecil namun biasanya format ini digunakan oleh para videografer amatir / handycam user.

DVD-RAM = DVD Random Access Memory merupakan standar baru yang dikeluarkan Forum DVD dimana ia memiliki sistem built-in error control, defect management dan sistem aksesnya yang hampir menyerupai Hard Disk. Berbeda dengan media DVD yang disinari dengan Red Laser dgn panjang gelombang 650nanometer, maka laser biru-ungu menggunakan panjang gelombang 405 nanometer sehingga dimungkinkan untuk penulisan / burn data yang lebih rapat. Hal ini yang membuat secara teoritis BluRay Disk mampu menampung hingga 100GB / layer di kemudian hari.
